Mark Russell

Mark has a diverse litigation practice as an associate practicing in the areas of civil and commercial litigation as well as in family law. Mark’s practice also has includes acting for lawyers in professional regulation matters including trusteeship and professional conduct hearings.

After graduating from the Schulich School of Law at Dalhousie University, Mark articled with Friedmans and was called to the bar in Ontario in 2013. Mark’s civil litigation practice includes representing various stakeholders in construction related litigation, real estate transactional disputes, and employment related matters. His commercial litigation includes general contract disputes, leasing disputes, shareholder claims and other corporate actions. Within the firm’s family law practice, Mark’s practice includes complex equalization and valuation issues, the interaction of family law with trust and corporate law issues, as well as parenting and support issues.

Inside the courtroom, Mark has acted as counsel at motions, trial, and on appeals before various courts, including the Ontario Superior Court of Justice and the Ontario Court of Appeal. Outside of the courtroom, Mark has participated in numerous mediations and alternative dispute resolution mechanisms to achieve results for his clients.
